Seiko Solar uses an ultra-efficient solar cell capable of generating energy from all types of light, not just sunlight. This energy is stored in a tiny rechargeable battery that lasts many times longer than conventional batteries. The movement is protected against overcharging, making the watch virtually maintenance-free. When fully charged, caliber V192 has a power reserve of six months. Should a power shortage occur, the watch will warn you by moving the second hand in two-second increments instead of one.
